Without vibrant, honorable competition no genuine republican form of government is possible; because there is no medium. No medium means that no clarity, media, relevant elections, change or democratic expression is possible. Here we can see not only just how uncompetitive the U.S. electoral system is - It’s worse than you may think - we can see its true character, and what it unleashes. From this angle a full explanation of the WeLeadUSA approach is documented.

Electoral competition was meant to be the medium by which our republic “got the message”.
A competitive review makes it clear; left as is, there is no medium.
A look past and present helps make the issue; and the solution clear.

Obfuscation Part - 1

If they know so little; what can we know?

A profound lack of competition doesn't only show up in the quantitative: election statistics, incumbency rates and margins of victory or loss.

It shows up in the ways things are done. With no medium to regulate, things are done by and for the very few.

Hidden agendas, dereliction and ignore-ance abound.

Watch part 2

Obfuscation Part - 2

To first create the medium of electoral competition we must define it; qualitatively.

Metrics based first on behavior, not “laws”:

  • Simplification
  • Debate
  • Transparency
  • Accessibility

A process that thrives on secrets and tricks can only be transformed to one that thrives on these qualities by demanding behavior; and by showing up.

Conclusion;

YES!

The design of our country ensures there can be only oligarchy in the absence of the people’s strategic participation in the nomination process; that is why it came to exist!

We cannot create the electoral-medium that is meant to control our representatives - and with them the government beyond - without that presence.

With our absence from the nomination process, electoral competition is easily controlled, suppressed and in the end made absurd! We are left with a false construct of party and platform while losing the crucial benefits of deliberating principled differences. As a result we will see little truth, limited context, unresponsive non-leadership, and zero power.

All this is fueled in no small measure by a lack of proper language that describes and defines the meaning of competition in this very specific context.

So very unnecessary and so easily overturned, these outcomes and deficiencies are insults to every genuine American value and only the capable people can rectify them.

The mediums message; insanity!
