More American citizens are concerned about and interested in public affairs than ever
There is more professional activism than ever
There is more information and media content available to the American people than ever
There is more unhappiness, mistrust, and grave concerns being expressed by more Americans than ever
Too great a focus on the part of the concerned citizen on “major” personalities, intrigues and events beyond their influence
The neutralizing and fracturing effects caused by too many advocates, with too many issues and reforms; that are not even pointing in the right direction in the first place
The misuse of modern citizen-based media that enables and encourages an unchanging media-model to reinforce these mistakes that go unchallenged
“Answers” that always focus on the soft ideals of the quantitative and distant and not the hard, qualitative ideals of engagement based on power and proximity
Just like with all the problems we face: electoral-media dysfunctions, the threat of economic decline, or assaults on civic freedoms, the activism and media that claims to represent the American public and stop what is surely not in their interests continue with the same old approaches:
Laws, Lawsuits, reforms, Constitutional amendments
Protest actions
Truth, calls to “wake up”, “share”, and “voice”
More (and more) media content
This has made it near impossible for the thoughtful, civic-minded public — who are the only ones capable of creating the necessary environment for change – to do what is required:
Identify their substantial powers
Demand definitions, clarity, and considered action
That will seek out a rational plan
Based on a well-reasoned precepts
That will attack the explicit problem
It is only a lack of focus and will that is. That however can be easily remedied; if there is a will to focus. If that will were to be found, a long history would inform a clear path of powerful and immediate action.
The best news of all; only a very small portion of the American people – motivated to act - have it within their power to wield unprecedented influence and create profound and positive change.`
The "system" is broken, voting doesn’t matter, and the elites,
money, and parties rule; we know!
But, is that all there is to it?
